I like to tell people that life is full of ups and downs. Right now my life is down, not to say I am struggling cause honestly I try not to.  Do I survive on my blog alone?  For almost a year I totally did.  Now thats not possible. So with that I had to cut some expenses. One of the first things to go was my cable bill. Sorry but paying almost 100 a month for TV was just ridiculous and something I was no longer willing to pay that kind of money for. I don’t have a digital converter as of yet (that is on my to get list).

So when I tell people I don’t watch TV anymore I get alot of blank stares my TV is my laptop. I work from it full time anyway why not add TV to the mix. My local channels live stream the news and the local morning shows live so I always get news and if not CNN.com has news, Weather Channel ( based here in Atlanta, GA) has my weather so I am pretty much covered on the news front.

But then I get people that say what about your shows. No problem almost all of my shows are on local network so the shows are released online the next day by noon. So I get to watch Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice and even Scandle ( my facebook friends make that hard commenting on whats going on Scandle though) but the next day when I get a break. I get to watch the shows as well.

Then there is reality TV which as some of you from my twitter world know I am a reality show junkie. I love it almost any reality show I pretty much watch. Its my guilty pleasure and I am so not ashamed. But it always leads to the question how do I watch my shows? Well luckily for me almost all my shows again are online on there respective channel websites so I watch the shows at my leasure I may be behind a week or two but I always catch ups.

I also am a member of Amazon Prime so I get to watch movies and old school tv shows online for FREE.  me and my daughter have a Friday ritual where we get in my bed with some popcorn and watch The Wonder Years on Amazon Prime. They have all the seasons so we are watching it in order. we are still in the first season but my daughter loves the show. She also now understand why I had a crush on Fred Savage back in the day.

So there you go how I save almost $100 a month but still get my TV fix …  Not only that but ADDED BONUS !!! My electric bill is down as well. GO ME !!
